Banana Republic launches rental service
Banana Republic is the latest fashion brand to venture into the subscription model. The label has officially debuted Style Passport, an online subscription service for womenswear available for US customers only.
For 85 US dollars a month, subscribers can pick an unlimited amount of items (as long as they order three garments at a time), which can either be returned or kept at a discounted rate later on. The fee includes free shipping both ways, unlimited exchanges and returns, and complimentary laundering services.
“We’re constantly evolving with our customer, meeting her where she is shopping. Style Passport will drive incremental revenue, and help us connect with younger shoppers who appreciate great style and want an affordable, sustainable way to try new fashion,” said Banana Republic’s President and CEO Mark Breitbard in a statement.
The new service is being launched in partnership with technology platform CaaStle, which will handle the logistics of the project.
In addition to launching Style Passport, Banana Republic also announced it will start offering its online customers the possibility to pick up their orders in store in the fall of 2019.
