Carter’s launches its first clothing collection for premature babies
Most expectant parents already have a full wardrobe ready before the new member of the family arrives. But those clothes are not so practical if the baby is born premature, which happens to one in ten babies in the United States. One would be surprised to learn just how hard it is to find baby clothes in smaller sizes, which is why Carter’s, the largest apparel brand for babies and children in the US, is launching its first collection for babies born too early.
The clothes include features like plastic snaps for x-rays and easy access closures at the arms, thanks to feedback from the neonatal intensive care staff at Northside Hospital in Atlanta, the largest provider of maternity and newborn services in the US. As for style, some bodysuits are embellished with inspirational quotes such as “NICU Graduate” and “My Super Heroes Wear Scrubs”.
“The launch of our new preemie product offering demonstrates our commitment to providing parents and every child with the essential products they need in those early years of life”, said Michael Casey, Carter’s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, in a statement.
The new collection is available in all of Carter’s stores across the United States, as well as selected retailers. Shoppers can also get a hold of the items on Carter’s website. Prices range between 10 and 13 US dollars.
