Nordstrom Local – a neighbourhood store for personal styling
The first Nordstrom Local test concept opened in October of 2017 on Melrose in Los Angeles. The store concept revolves around one styling suite and eight dressing rooms surrounding a central meeting space, where customers can sit and enjoy a glass of wine or beer, while having a chat with their personal stylists.
Nordstrom Local concept is much smaller than an average 140,000 sq. ft. Nordstrom store having no dedicated inventory. However, customers who want to shop will have access to personal stylists and a host of other services like buy online, pick-up in-store (available same-day), alterations & tailoring, trunk club services, manicure appointments and more.
Founded in 1901, as a shoe store in Seattle, today Nordstrom operates 373 stores in 40 states, including 122 full-line stores in the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico; 239 Nordstrom Rack stores; two Jeffrey boutiques; two clearance stores; six Trunk Club clubhouses; and its Nordstrom Local service concept along with online platforms.
