Samsung fashion unit streamlines with new software
Samsung Construction & Trading, which purchases fashion inventory and manages fashion logistics for industry brands, has selected a new software solution to help streamline its operations, particularly those in the US and UK.
The company, the founder of Samsung Group, has implemented Infor Fashion, Infor SupplyWeb, and Infor Factory Track to streamline operations across its three departments of apparel, footwear and accessories. In particular, it will provide end-to-end warehouse automation, along with warehouse mobility, traceability, and tools for tracking labour and time.
Eung Beom, director of the C&T division of Samsung, headquartered in New York, says that as the business continues to expand and grow, it needs an industry-specific solution powerful enough to manage its US and UK operations today, while being nimble enough to adopt to what the company will need in the future.
Using Factory Track, SCTA says it will be able to streamline production and improve inventory operations as well as increase visibility and insight to understand true costs, improve cycle times, and respond to customer expectations for on-time delivery.
Infor SupplyWeb, meanwhile, will help reduce supply chain and inventory costs while increasing operational efficiency and transparency across the organisation.
Infor Fashion's capabilities include product design and development, sourcing, demand management, supply chain planning, production management, inventory management, and support for multichannel distribution.
