Rendle steps up as VF CEO, Wiseman to be exec chairman
Wrangler and North Face owner VF Corporation has named current president and COO Steven E Rendle as its new CEO. He succeeds Eric C Wiseman who steps down at the end of this year but who will continue to serve as executive chairman of VF’s board.
“Steve is the right person to serve as VF’s next CEO as we begin our 118th year of business,” Wiseman said. “We have a long-standing, rigorous and successful approach to succession planning. We’ve been working since 2008 to identify and prepare the right person to succeed me when the time comes. That time is now.”
Wiseman will work with Rendle to ensure the transition is successful. He added: “I’ve known and worked closely with Steve for the last 16 years. Along the way, he has been deeply involved in every aspect of the business, and he’s clearly ready for this role.”
In his current role, Rendle has overseen all of VF’s business coalitions worldwide: Outdoor & Action Sports, Jeanswear, Imagewear and Sportswear. He’s been responsible for VF’s global Supply Chain and Direct-to-Consumer platforms and has been a member of VF’s board since last year.
